BANGALORE: Three persons, including a woman, were killed on the spot and seven others were injured when the SUV, they were travelling in  rammed into a car. The incident occurred near Dodderi village at T Begur on NH 4 in Nelamangala on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Huchchahanumaiah of Moodalapalya, his wife Gayatri and their cook Rajappa.  

While, Ramanna, Raghu, Muddappa, Sugandaraju, who were in the car sustained severe injuries and three others in the SUV escaped with minor injuries. They have been admitted to hospital.

Police said that Huchchahanumaiah, along with the family, had gone to Bylanjaneya temple near Shivagange Hills, where he hosted a lunch for devotees on account of Sri Ramanavami on Sunday.

 While returning home, their driver tried to overtake a private bus, but lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the car that was in front of the bus.

“Ramanna, Raghu and Muddappa, who were returning to the city from Kabada in the car sustained grievous injuries and their condition is said to be critical,” Nelamangala police, who have registered a case, said.

Man Run Over by Bus

A pedestrian was killed after a bus ran over him in Uttarahalli on Saturday.  The deceased was aged between 30 and 35 years and was a ragpicker. Other details are yet to be ascertained.

The incident took place around 9.30 pm while he was crossing the road near BGS Hospital.

A BMTC bus, which was coming from the left side ran over him, killing him on the spot. He was also suffering from mental illness, police sources said.

Byatarayanapura traffic police registered a case and the bus driver Shankar has been arrested in this regard.
