BANGALORE: The Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Indian Embassy of the People’s Republic of China jointly, are organising a cultural event ‘An evening of Colourful Folk Dances and Music’ in Bangalore on April 4.

According to official sources, a 38-member artistes’ team from China’s Xinjiang Mukam Arts Ensemble would perform in the cultural event which would be chaired by D H Shankaramurthy, Chairman of the Karnataka Legislative Council.   The event will be held at the Jnana Jyothi Auditorium and Niu Qingbaos, the Consulate General of China in Mumbai, and other dignitaries would be present on the occasion.

  The event is being held in Bangalore after a gap of over a decade, the sources said.

The programme is being organised to strengthen the cultural ties between India and China, the sources told the Express.
