Wakf Board Chief   Manhandled?

Wakf Board Chairman R Abdul Reyaz Khan was allegedly manhandled by some activists on Saturday. The incident occurred when Khan arrived at the board office to take part in a meeting at about 11.30am.

Sources told Express, “Khan, in collusion with others sold the board’s 2.3 acre land next to Lalbagh in 2008. This move had made the members of Karnataka Wakf Protection Joint Action Committee and Tippu Sultan Wakf Estate Committe furious and they had planned the attack. They were also angry over Khan still sticking on to the post.”  However, the High Grounds police have denied the charges and said Khan was injured in a melee involving ‘some members’ on Saturday.
