BANGALORE: Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated The Direct Taxes Regional Training Institute (DTRTI), the training arm of the Income tax department in Bangalore on Sunday.
He said that the government would fully support the acquisition and development of the new proposed campus close to the current set up. Interacting with reporters on the sidelines, Jahanznazeb Akthar, Director of DTRTI said that the proposed campus would be a global training centre built over 20 acres.
Claiming that countries like South Africa, Brazil, Sri Lanka and Bangaldesh among others had evinced interest in getting trained in such institutions, she said the process would be completed soon.
“The current set-up is on a 3 acre campus but the one we shall be looking to develop further would be around 20 acres,” she said. Adding that it was still as proposal, she said that the finance minister’s assurance would ensure that the same would be completed soon.
