BANGALORE: Two children who went missing in Bannerghatta Police Station limits on Wednesday were found dead, floating in Wodeyara Machenahalli lake. The deceased have been identified as Abishek (9) and Vivek (7), children of Appaji, a resident of Manchenahalli near  Jigani.

Appaji, a carpenter by profession had filed a missing complaint with the Bannerghattta police station on Thursday, after his children went missing on Wednesday. Appaji left home to Jigani to get goods for his carpentry work at about 3 pm on Wednesday.

On his return home,  Appaji found his children missing. His attempts to trace his children yielded no results which made him file a missing complaint with Banneghatta police on Thursday.

Some locals informed the police that bodies of two children were found floating in Wodeyara Machenahalli lake. The police,  who rushed to the spot at about 5 pm on Thursday fished out the bodies of the children. The bodies were sent to Anekal for postmortem. “The children might have gone to the lake to play and accidentally fallen into the lake,” the police said.

A case has been registered in this connection and investigations are on.
