BANGALORE: The Goutham Educational Academy was founded in the year 1986 under the aegis of the Goutham Institute of Medical Science & Technology and has been duly registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act. The Goutham Educational Academy has since its inception built a formidable name in the field of Medical and Para Medical Education. What are the unique features of Goutham College?

The Goutham College was established in 1986 with the avowed task of providing quality education at affordable tuition fee. A group of highly qualified and eminent personalities helm the affairs and infuse their managerial and leadership competencies in guiding the students. The Board of Management of the Society consist of a group of selfless, dedicated and hardworking educationists whose endeavor in providing and establishing good professional education to thestudents has been a relentless effort on their part. The Institute has got adequate buildings and other infrastructure facilities located in the heart of the Garden City.

What are the Courses offered?

We have an array of courses ranging from Nursing, Physiotherapy, Life Sciences, Commerce, Social Work, Psychology, Computers, Pharmacy, Paramedical Courses in Lab Tech., X- Ray, O.T., Dialysis, Ophthalmic besides PUC and a State syllabus School. The ladder of achievement of the curriculum is planned in such a way that all the potential and inherent talents of the students are tapped and developed multi-dimensionally, aided by Audio Visual, Computer and Library, Internet & Media facilities so as to flourish them with updated knowledge. The college offers a wide range of professional, Multi Cultural, Social, Sports and other extra-curricular activities to unmask and grow the hidden talents and potential of the students. The Academy has established effective links with many professional organisations.

The composition of the students who hail from different ethnic groups and communities from all over the country provides a strong base for the students’ disposition towards a secular society.

What are your future plans in terms of expansion?

We have embarked on an ambitious plan of starting an International School in Bangalore and Mysore. We are awaiting Government clearance for conducting Bachelor Degree Courses inAyurvedic Medicine & Surgery, Radiotherapy and Law.

Considering the competition, what are your views on the education practice going on in the country?

In my opinion more autonomy to the Colleges will improve standards and give us the freedom to be more innovative and creative which will benefit the students in terms of job prospects and research.
