BANGALORE: Here is an opportunity for the motorsport enthusiasts in the country to showcase their talents. Indian National Autocross Championship (INAC), a motorsport championship, will be organised by Wynnsport in association with An Open Mind (AOM) as Principal Associate

in the city.

This first championship that will take place in Bangalore will be held on April 28 and 29 at Gayatri Vihar — Palace Grounds, followed by the second round on May 26 and 27 in Cochin. Earlier in March 2012, the Federation of Motor Sports Club of India - FMSCI INAC made its formal entry as a premier championship in the Motorsport calendar of the FMSCI. This event, which is happening for the first time, will see some of India’s ace car drivers like Rahul Kanthraj and Gaurav Gill. Speaking about the event, Balakrishna Jayasimha, chief executive of Wynnsport, said, “We are happy to announce that we have 80 participants and about 50 cars taking part in the championship.”  Brian A Soans, COO of AOM and Venkat and Badri, from the Harley Davidson Club of Bangalore were also a part of the conference.

“This event has received a very good response. In fact I have just received yet another registration from a team from Cochin,” commented Shivu Shivappa, Vice President of KMSC, who was also present at the event. Entries from Coimbatore, Mysore and even local teams from FRK Bangalore have been received. The track chosen is less than a kilometer where the practice session on Saturday will be followed by the qualifying round on Sunday. The final round will take place for all the seven classes of the event.

It was mentioned that they had currently no titled sponsors. Fire engine, tow vehicles and even fire extinguishers will be present to ensure safety. Apart from the motorsport action, this event will give the audience a chance to view the rock band ‘Parikrama’ perform live.
