BANGALORE: Mayor D Venkatesh Murthy announced that an exclusive helpline will work from his office so that people can contact him directly.

Addressing a press conference, Murthy said a helpline will be started soon, for people to register their complaints through phone call or by sending an SMS.

People can email or write letters directly to the Mayor.

Based on the complaints, officials concerned will be directed to solve the problems. “We will revert to them through the media they have contacted us after solving the problem,” he said. Murthy said he along with Deputy Mayor Srinivas, will work from 8 am to 8 pm every day.

While in the first half of the day, they will spend time with people in various wards, second half of the day, they will be available at the BBMP office.

“During our weekly visit to every constituency, if we find any problems, we will try to solve them on the spot. Since the Mayor does not have executive powers, we will take the Commissioner along with us, so that woes are solved on the spot,” he said.
