BANGALORE: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Suratkal emerged as state champions in the finals of TCS Tech Byte quiz competition held here on Thursday.

Students from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering and Technology, Mysore, were adjudged runners-up. Chaitanya and Samarth from NIT Suratkal beat Rajath and Abhishek of SJCE in the last round.

The last question was on the conceptualisation of Adobe.

Four other teams qualified for the finals were BMS College of Engineering represented by Himadri Bannerjee and Akshath; GEC, Raichur, represented by Baisrudin and Deepak Patil; East West Institute of Technology, Bangalore, represented by Md Farhaan and Nishant; KLESCET, Belgaum, represented by Roshan V and Prajwal R.The questions were on IT and technology, and comprised audio and visual rounds.

NIT scored 45 points followed by SJCE with 40 points.

Vice-president and head of TCS Bangalore Nagaraj Ijari distributed the prizes.
