A 28-year-old daily wage worker was arrested by Talaghattapura police on Saturday for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl at Avalahalli.

Both the accused, Rizwan, and the girl are residents of same area. The girl’s parents are also daily wage workers and Rizwan was working with them.

According to the police, the incident took place around 5.30 pm when she was playing with her friends near her house. Rizwan, who came on a bike asked her to sit on his bike saying that her father was looking for a cow which went missing and he had asked him to bring her.

He took her to a place near Hulimavu and threatened her to do what he wants, at knife point. The locals, who heard her screaming, rescued her after thrashing him.

It is said that girl’s father has alleged that she was kidnapped for rape.
