BANGALORE: BJP MLAs representing the city  have decided to give a notice to the Legislative Assembly Speaker seeking time for discussion on drinking water problem in the city. The MLAs would be submitting their request to Speaker K G Bopaiah on Wednesday.

This is the second such initiative by the ruling party MLAs in the last two weeks. Last week, a group of  BJP MLAs had petitioned Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and Bangalore City In-Charge Minister R Ashok not to give permission for construction of shopping malls and apartments. K R Puram MLA Nandish Reddy said that they would submit the notice on Wednesday. “We are also linking the shortage of drinking water to rising apartments and shopping malls in the city,” Reddy stated.
