Music has never been the same, from the birth of Blues to modern day Rhythm and Blues ( R&B) as it has always been a part of us, taking us to great heights. In Bangalore, the music scene has touched the peak especially when it comes to metal and hard rock. Despite, all the competitions and metal scene ruling the city, ‘Solder’, a local band has proved that there is still room for new genre and fresh talent to showcase their skills in Bangalore.

Solder played recently at Hard Rock Cafe in the city, performing for a large crowd, on Thursday evening. Unlike other bands that have Oh! Baby in their every other love song, the band was unique. Even though, most of  the songs that they played were attracting many love birds at Hard Rock closer, they proved to be different, with their lyrics and with a few rare switches in their music. The band performed over 12 songs for the crowd and most of them were original. However, with their covers like Guns and Roses and the Beatles, the band put up a great show for the appreciative audience and made them enjoy their drinks even more. The band had a very well balanced playlist, and few of their songs made the crowd beg for more numbers.  Their songs’ Walk Away’ and ‘Passerby’ made it a perfect night.

The Solder band was not only enjoyed for its music but also for their energetic presence on the stage. The 5-piece-band started their journey in 2009, when a group of friends got together and began to jam.  Siddarth said, “We got together, to make some happy music. We all have different backgrounds and we have put all of them in one song. We play music to give others a good time. And we do it by playing music which we love most.”

The band definitely makes everyone have a good time and a very refreshing change in our monotonous lives. One might think the band Solder is a heavy metal and may  give a headache for the non-head bangers. However, the band’s name is deceiving. Solder stay away from metal when it comes to lyrics, but few metal scales that can be heard from the guitars makes it a perfect genre of Feel Good Music.

Sylvester said, “We came up with this name because this was the first thing that the band did together. Initially, when we started of, my guitar cable broke down. We as a band, fixed the guitar cable so that we could continue to jam. We fixed the cable by soldering and that is when, we decided to name the band Solder. This is also a special name for us because this was the first thing we did as a band.”

Soon they will be seen performing at Counter culture, so rock lovers get ready to catch this band live again in your namma city.
