BIDAR: As many as 35 people were taken into custody by a Bangalore police team in a raid at Irani Galli in the city on Friday night.
Initially, the Iranis resisted the raid and some even attempted suicide by dousing themselves with kerosene, the SP said. 350 grams of gold was recovered from under the bed of a woman who was pretending to be recovering from a surgery.
DCP Sidramappa, who led the Bangalore team, told Express that Iranis from Bidar were involved in robbery cases at 70 to 80 places in Bangalore.
