Saraswathi Kendra Learning Centre for Children, Eldams Road, Alwarpet, celebrated its 27th annual day at Sivagami Pethachi Auditorium on February 10.

The students presented a lively potpourri of cultural programmes. The celebrations began with Laya Kavithai, a reflection of poetry in dance that witnessed intricate footwork and rhythmic music. The young dancers set the stage on fire with their fantastic performance.

This was followed by a vibrant portrayal of the diverse festivals of India. From the colour and camaraderie of  Holi, the spirit of giving of Christmas, the delightful fun in Deepavali, to the message of brotherhood in Eid, the students effortlessly wove together the varied hues of Indian cultures into the performance. The tiny tots of the school performed a welcome dance which was undoubtedly the show-stopper of the day.

Principal Marlene Kamdar read out the annual report and highlighted the innovative teaching methodologies and therapies that the school provided for the students with special needs. Nirmala Prasad, principal, MOP Vaishnav College, was the chief guest.
