BANGALORE: Members of Students Federation of India, Democratic Youth Federation of India, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee and other organisations formed a platform to protest against ‘saffronisation’ of education by the ruling BJP Government in  state. Anant Nayak N, member of SFI said, “BJP government has modified the syllabus of Social Studies text books for 5-7 grade by including inflammatory content that could change the students’ attitude towards democracy.” He stressed, “The number of pages have been increased which could be stressful for students, and apart from this, incorrect information has been printed in the text books.”

Venkatesh Gowda, secretary, KPCC, said a protest will be organised soon. “We have plans to stage protest in front of DSERT office and demand for changes in the syllabus. If our demands are met, we will call for statewide bundh of schools and colleges on February 28,” Gowda said.
