BANGALORE: Noted Kannada novelist Dr S L Bhyrappa on Friday replied to his cynics, who accuse him of right-wing ideas in his novels. At the launch of a book that discusses the concepts of dharma and samskruthi, Bhyrappa said that he was merely in pursuit of truth.
“The conflicts of values and dharma have never affected my writing. It is my pursuit of truth that I have tried to present in my works, and the measure of who is higher or lower. It is not just me, but even scientists are in search of the ultimate truth,” he said. Bhyrappa added, “However, it is the responsibility of a writer or a novel to become a medium of this pursuit of feelings and translating them into experience for a reader.”
