BANGALORE: Fruit Salon and Spa, which has been focusing on restorative and energising potential of mineral water and has conceptualised unique beauty treatments, is planning to open up a chain of salon and spas vested with a distinctly fruity touch across the country. Jalesh Kumar, director of the Fruit Salon and Spa speaks to Vyas Sivanand about their unique features and their expansion plans.

What are the various unique features of Fruit Salon and Spa?

We opened the first branch of Fruit Salon and Spa in 2010 in Whitefield. It is a standalone property spread over 4,000 Sq. ft. The aim is to create a premium experience for our customers, both men and women. Every aspect of the Salon and Spa has been given an exquisite touch with about five treatment rooms, vast salon and lounge areas and proper attention to hygiene. The kit used for pedicure and manicure are given to the customers to ensure  no reuse of the kit even by mistake. The treatment is given after properly assessing many parameters. Your body’s unique need is discovered. Your lifestyle is clearly understood. And the massage is determined based on what serves you best.

What is the cost for the range of services offered by you?

Since it is a premium salon and spa, the cost is a slightly on the higher side. We have services starting from `299 to `25,000.

What are your expansion plans?

We will be opening a Hosur branch by this month end and a branch in Cochin by April this year. The Hosur branch will be in a hotel while the Cochin branch will be an independent property situated on Marine Drive.

What is the strategy used towards identifying the location for your branches?

We identify the potential of the place, especially taking into consideration the location of existing spas and salons, and understanding customer potential. All the places which have been identified do not have a premium salon and spa like this while the potential in terms of elite entrepreneurs and top-end executives are quite high. We are also tying up with hotels so that their customers can use our services. The consumer is aware about premium products and beauty consciousness has significantly increased.
