BANGALORE: The sleuths of the organised crime wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested notorious rowdy Mahesh alias Jaraganahalli Mahesha, 28, and his three associates. Police recovered a country made revolver, lethal weapons, a phone and a car from the arrested persons.

The other accused are M S Harish alias Katthe, 23, and L Mahesh alias Mental Mahesha, 23, and K B Vinod Kumar alias Vinu, 27.

Police said that the accused had allegedly conspired to eliminate their opponent Jaraganahalli Sanjeeva, and were waiting for him at Suddaguntepalya in Mico Layout.

Based on a tip off, the police swung into operation and nabbed them.

However, another accused Madhu managed to give a slip to the police.

“Earlier Sanjeeva was in Mahesha’s gang and they were into real estate dealings.

They had financial dispute and hence Mahesha and his aides had planned to murder Sanjeev,” the police added.

Mahesha is a rowdysheeter in J P Nagar police station and is facing two murder, four attempt to murder, a dacoity and an assault case, while Katthe is allegedly involved in a murder case.

A case has been registered in Mico Layout police station.

The sleuths of the special enquiry squad of the CCB arrested a person for allegedly organising betting over cricket match between Australia and Sri Lanka.

The accused, Praveen, 23, was a resident of Okalipura.

Police said that the accused had contacts with people who were betting over cricket matches and organised betting over mobile phones.

Based on a tip off, the police raided an apparel shop where Praveen allegedly organised betting and arrested him.
