BANGALORE: Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs S Suresh Kumar has instructed officials of seven city corporations to ensure availability of potable water during summer.
He said after a video conference with commissioners of Gulbarga, Mangalore, Belgaum, Davangere, Bellary, Tumkur and Mysore that officials have been directed to open a special cell to deal with water scarcity that may crop up in their respective urban bodies.
“In several cities, drinking water is being supplied six days weekly and in other towns, it is thrice a week.” The minister had advised that measures be taken to prevent the outbreak of communicable diseases due to water contamination
