BANGALORE: The presence of mind of a bus driver, who suffered a mild heart attack while driving a bus at a high speed, helped saved the lives of passengers on Thursday, police said.

The driver was driving the Volvo bus belonging to the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) with 45 passengers on board at high speed but he controlled the speed and parked the vehicle on the road side when he started feeling uncomfortable in the chest, police said.

The driver, who suffered a mild heart attack, was admitted to hospital, police said.

LANCE NAIK COMMITS SUICIDE

A Lance Naik posted at the Strike One Corps headquarters here allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest with his service revolver.

Anil J D, a resident of Karnataka, allegedly took the extreme step in his barrack on Wednesday night, police sources said, adding that his body has been sent for postmortem.
