The students and staff members of Zion Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Selaiyur, came together for the cause of the residents of Anbalayam, a home for mentally challenged children, in Muttukadu on December 23.
According to Dr N Vijayan, correspondent of the school, the students handed over cots, blankets and stationery items worth `2.5 lakhs for the benefit of the 25 residents of the centre. This gesture of giving and caring gave the students an opportunity to learn the importance of community service, he added.
