BANGALORE: Dejected over infidelity, a 23-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging at her residence near Gubbalala Church in Talaghattapura on the outskirts of the city on Sunday.
The deceased N Ramya, was an employee of a garment factory. She was married to Narasimhamurthy an year ago and the couple had an eight-month-old baby.
The police said that Ramya recently learnt that her husband had married another woman and was depressed over the incident. The couple quarrelled over the issue often and she took the extreme step on Sunday. The incident came to light when a neighbour went to the deceased’s house in the afternoon.
It is also alleged that Ramya was murdered by her husband and he is absconding after the incident.
