Selvam, who resides with his physically-challenged mother in the same locality, had gone for ragpicking around 10 am. As he went there, about 5-6 stray dogs attacked him and bit his nose. A few passersby, who noticed it, pelted stones and rescued the boy. He was shifted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. “If the Palike authorities had taken measures to clean the garbage, such incidents could be averted,” the residents complained.
