BANGALORE: : In separate incidents, two men ended their lives in the city on Sunday.

Muniswamy Rao, 62, a resident of Jaimaruthinagar in Nandini Layout, hanged himself at his house after his family members refused to give him money for alcohol.

Police said that Rao, had retired from work ten years ago. He was a habitual drunkard and often asked his wife and son to give money for alcohol. On Sunday evening, his wife refused to give him money, over which the couple quarrelled. Later in the night, he hanged himself in his room.

Nandini Layout police have registered a case.In the other incident, Nagaraj, 42, a painter, committed suicide by consuming overdose of medicines at his residence in Gayatrinagar. Health problem is said to be the reason behind the   extreme step.

The police said that he was suffering from problems related to kidney and had not recovered post-treatment. Dejected over this, he consumed overdose of medicines and ended his life. His wife Gangamma stated  that health problem was the reason for the  husband’s suicide.

Subramanyanagar police have registered a case in this connection.
