With Pongal celebrations just around the corner, an activity that brought in the elements of the traditional festival unfolded for kids and their parents at the Hippocampus Children’s Library, Indira Nagar, on Saturday.
Tiny tots spelled out the festive spirit by tracing out colourful rangoli patterns, while some tried their hands at cooking hot, crispy vadas on the library’s terrace. The highlight of the day was a traditional games session comprising Palankuzhi, Parama Padam and Chinese Ludo. Squeals of laughter echoed in the hall as the bubbly youngsters tried to grapple with the rules of the games.
In a fitting finale, a thapattam performance by popular theatre group Koothu-p-Pattarai filled the audience with the spirit of Pongal.
