BANGALORE:  Eshappa (23), a native of Vaadi in Gulbarga district, dreamt of leading a happy married life as his wedding was scheduled to be held next month. But fate had something else in store for him  as he died after a branch of a tree fell on him when he was riding pillion with his colleague.

The incident was reported at Siddalingaiah Circle on Vittal Mallya Road on Saturday at around 2.15 pm. Eshappa was working as a helper to a construction works supervisor Ambareesh. The former, who had come to the city three years ago in search of livelihood, was residing at Ulsoor.

According to police, Eshappa along with Ambareesh, who was riding the scooter, was heading towards Sampangiramanagar. When they were passing through Siddalingaiah Circle, a tree branch fell on them. Though Ambareesh escaped, the branch fell on Eshappa’s head injuring him fatally. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

Speaking to Express, Ambareesh said, “I heard the sound of the branch falling and tried to ride away. Unfortunately it fell on Eshappa’s head. We were going to collect our salaries.  He was working with me since eight months,” he said.
