BANGALORE: To prove his fondness for a friend, a 21-year-old Civil engineer committed suicide by hanging himself at his room in a PG centre near Munekolala in HAL police station limits on Sunday evening.

The deceased, Rajesh P, was a native of Thirthahalli in Shimoga district.

A diploma holder in Civil engineering, Rajesh was working with a private company in Whitefield.

The police said that Rajesh was found hanging from the fan in his room on Sunday.

He ended his life when he was alone in the room.

He has left behind a suicide note in which he has explained that he was very fond of his friend, Abhishek, his high school classmate.

Though he treated him with love and affection and tried to get close with him, Abhishek was drifting away from Rajesh.

Hurt by this, the latter had sent an SMS to the former on Saturday asking him why he was not respecting his friendship and Abhishek had not responded to the message.

“Later, Rajesh messaged him that he liked his companionship to the core and he would prove it.

The next day he ended his life.

He has also mentioned in the note that if there is a re-birth, he would like to be Abhishek’s friend,” the police added.

Cyclist Killed in Road Accident

A 28-year-old cyclist was killed on the spot after a water tanker ran over him on Kodichikkanahalli main road in Madiwala on Monday around 11.30 am.

The deceased, Ravi, was a resident of Bilekahalli, off Bannerghatta Road and a native of Mandya.

He was a supervisor at an incense stick factory in Bommanahalli.

According to the police, Ravi was cycling to his office and while he was going on Kodichikkanahalli main road, a water tanker hit his cycle from behind and as he fell, it ran over him killing him on the spot.

The driver of the tanker was arrested.

Two End Lives

Abhishek, 27, a cab driver, ended his life by hanging at his residence on HAL Airport Road.

The reason for the suicide is yet to be ascertained.

In the other incident, Prasad, 21, a mason, hanged himself at his house in Challaghatta.
