BANGALORE: BJP National president Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda will inaugurate the BGS Global Cancer Institute on Wednesday. BGS Global Hospitals Group,the promoters of the Institute, have claimed that it is the first in the Asia Pacific region to get the most advanced radiation therapy technology for cancer treatment with the launch of BGS Global Cancer Institute.
The institute is located on Uttarahalli Main Road.
“We are passionate about outcomes and evidence-based medicines. We are a focused team, concerned with bringing cutting edge technology into healthcare,” Dr Ravindranath, Chairperson, BGS Global Hospitals Group, told reporters on Tuesday.
The mainstay of the Global Cancer Institute is TrueBeam STx, an advanced radiation therapy machine engineered to perform the most sophisticated radiation therapy and radio-surgery procedures with pinpoint accuracy and ultra-fine precision.
It works with sophisticated imaging, beam delivery and motion management.
“It will enable faster, accurate tumour targeting in the treatment of challenging cancers throughout the body, including those in the brain, pancreas and liver,” said David James, Director of Surgical Sciences, Varian Medical Systems.
