BANGALORE: KR Puram police have arrested a moneylender for allegedly harassing public by charging exorbitant interest rates. The accused has been identified as R Krishna alias Handi Krishna (45), a resident of
Devasandra in KR Puram.
The police have estimated that his illegal financial turn over is around `80 lakh annually. According to police, Krishna used to give loans to people at an interest rate of of 15 per cent against. If they failed to pay the loan with interest, he allegedly used to increase the rate of interest and threaten debtors by using goons. The police have seized blank cheques and other documents related to dealings.
