BANGALORE: Politician Dr H V Hande’s new book titled ‘Dr Ambedkar - The Making Of the Indian Constitution’ was released in the city on Monday.
Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and Rajya Sabha member Dr M Rama Jois released the book.
“The reason behind writing this book in English is to spread the message of Dr B R Ambedkar. He has given us the best Constitution in the world,” Dr Hande said, speaking about his book.
Quoting a few passages from the book, Rajya Sabha member Dr M Rama Jois said that Dr Ambedkar’s words were relevant even today. “Ambedkar said two things about India have to be assumed - social and economic inequalities.
Dr Ambedkar fought against these evils throughout his life,” he observed.
Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa appreciated the book for its portrayal of the process of framing the Indian Constitution.
“Dr Ambedkar pointed out the supremacy of the voters’ choice. His efforts have been put forward beautifully in this book,” he said. In his foreword to the book, former president Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, has stated that the book must be used as a point of reference for people in the legal fraternity.
