BANGALORE: City Police Commissioner B G Jyothiprakash Mirji promoted 200 Head Constables to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) on Monday.

The promoted ASIs have been transferred to various police stations and have been directed to report in new places on Tuesday.

In the recently concluded Karnataka State Police Annual Sports Meet, Jagadish, a police constable of Bangalore City Police has emerged as the champion in the men’s division. While, N Usharani, a woman police constable of Bangalore Rural District, is the champion in Women’s Division. DG&IGP Shankar M Bidari has rewarded them with cash prize.
