BANGALORE: The city traffic police have asked all the car drivers to fasten their seat  belts compulsorily. If anyone found without fastened seat belts, a spot penalty of `100 would be levied. Further, if they are caught thrice in the case, such drivers’ driving license would be withdrawn.

The police said that in most of cases where car users died in road accidents, it was noticed that they had not fastened the seat belts.  Moreover, according to the Indian Motor Vehicle Rule of 1989, it was mandatory for the driver and the person who sits in the front seat to fasten seat belts.
