BANGALORE: The staff of Makkala Sahayavani rescued five boys from Bihar, who were forced to work at a house in Halasur.

Based on a tip off a pro-children organisation, the house was raided.

“It was found that the boys were made to work in a printing press for meagre salary. The working condition was not good and they were not given proper food. It is said that they worked for more than 15 hours a day,”  the officials said.

However, the house owner managed to hand over the children to the custody of Child Welfare Commission before action was taken. Further investigations are on.
