BANGALORE: Tumkur University conferred honourary distinguished professorship on Prof Azeddine Driouich, Director, Laboratory Glocomev, University of Rouen, France, here on Wednesday, during the inaugural event of a conference on ‘Integrated Plant Biology and Agri-Biotechnology.’
Prof Driouich is presently the coordinator of the research group ‘Glycobiology of the cell wall’ and Director and Founder of the Electron Microscope Centre of the Cell Imaging Platform PRIMACEN-IBiSA, an interactive management platform in France.
Dr M Mahadevappa, member of Karnataka Planning Board and former president of Indian Agricultural University Association, told Express that the state government must encourage agri-biotechnology by allocating more funds for research.
KSHEC Vice-Chancellor Dr S C Sharma and Dr K M Kaveriappa were present.
