BANGALORE:  Even as the police grappled around with justifications for their failure in initiating action against the advocates who turned violent on Friday, the State Intelligence Department has now revealed that they had indeed informed the Police and the Home Departments about such an attack a day in advance. They had further insisted on deployment of forces in huge numbers at the City Civil Court where former Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy was to be produced for a trial.

Speaking to Express, a senior officer from the Intelligence said that they had passed on a written intelligence information to the cops regarding such an attack on Thursday.

“We were aware that something of this nature would occur and we had passed on the  information to the police. “

The lawyers had stated that their next target would be the media and police in January post the protest they conducted, the senior officer said.
