BANGALORE: The Bengaluru regional round of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2012 witnessed the battle of wits on March 3, at NIMHANS, Hosur Road.

After a gruelling and close contest, the team from IIM, Bangalore comprising of Nishant Katoch and Kalai Selvam edged out Varun and Arun from R V College of Engineering to make it to the national finals to be held in Mumbai on April 8, 2012.

The chief guest K Subramanya, chief executive officer, TATA BP Solar felicitated the winners at the event.

The winning team from Bangalore will compete with the regional winners from across 23 other cities, where the quiz is being organised.

The Bengaluru regional round of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2012 saw participation from over 200 colleges at the preliminary rounds.

The top six teams who qualified for the regional stage rounds were St Joseph’s College of Business Administration, R V College of Engineering, BMS College of Engineering, School of Law, Christ University, IIM-B, Department of Management Studies and Christ University.

Complementing the quizzing talent and knowledge of the young participants of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2012, K Subramanya, said, “This is one of the most highly ranked quiz shows in India.

I call it the ‘Wimbledon of quizzes in the country.

This is an enabling platform to discover, embrace, challenge young minds and ignite creativity in them.” The winners and runners-up from the national finals will have an opportunity to compete with the winners and runners-up of the UK and Singapore editions, held earlier.
