BANGALORE: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Timken Women Associates came together to celebrate The Reach and Teach Programme in Parikrma School recently. The aim of the foundation was to provide quality education and nutritional foods to the less privileged children. These group of women associates rendered their selfless services to the children of Parikrma school to mark the women’s day celebration at Adobe Saraswathi Parikrma centre for learning.

The school which was established in 2003, strives to teach English to children who come from poor background and also offer programmes like immunisation and dental check up programmes.

“Interacting with each other is a way of growing. Ensuring that our children see different sections of the world is among our main goals,” said Akka Sabitha, principal of the school.

These initiatives won the hearts of Timken women who decided to spend half -a-day with children.”Exposure of these children to the global world is very important in their lives”, commented Regina Vasudevan, head of corporate communications.

The foundation which comprised of over 80 members, found a cause to support those in need in Parikrma School. The foundation donated two buses to the school for those children who are deprived of commuting facilities. A theme of giving back to the community was well inculcated among the members of Timken.

The school was also privileged to have teachers from UK and other countries to mould the hidden talent of children.
