‘SC/STs yet to use scheme benefits’

BANGALORE:  All Indian Babu Jagjivan Ram Dalit Development Federation and Adi Jambava Jagruti, a minority wing working for the rights of SC/ST, held its summit at Mythic Society on Sunday. Former minister Anjanamurthy participated in the programme.

The summit had around 200 members from various districts. Addressing the gathering, the founder of Adi Jambava Jagruti Samiti M Gangadhar said, “Around 1 crore people are from SC/ST who have not utilised their rights. This is because of lack of education.” He congratulated the Minister for Social Justice A Narayanswamy who was recently honoured with a Doctorate degree from Gulbarga University.

Former Minister Anjannappa said, “We have plenty of plans for SC/ST under Bapu Jagjivan Ram scheme and the development of the community is possible if  these benefits are utilised.
