BANGALORE: The 9th Fast Track Court sentenced six convicts to life imprisonment for murdering Ramachandrappa, a Head Constable in HAL police station in July 2009. Police constable Balaji, Praveen, M Ravi, Gopi, Venugopalakrishna and Manjunath are the accused.

The accused Balaji and Ramachandrappa were working in the same station. Balaji’s friend Praveen, allegedly had an illicit relationship with Balaji’s wife. Ramachandrappa had allegedly publicised it. Balaji, who came to know about it, hatched a conspiracy with his friends and murdered Ramachandrappa.

Later, they had thrown his body into a drain. Subramanyapura police had a registered a case.

Dowry: Woman Ends Life

Upset over dowry harassment by her husband, a 23-year-old woman  ended life at her residence in ITI Colony at Rammurthynagar in K R Puram police limits on Wednesday.

The deceased, Deepika, a native of Ramanagaram had married Nagaraju, an employee at MphasiS, three years ago, the police said.

Nagaraju was allegedly harassing her for dowry and had forced her to demand a share in her father’s property. Deepika called her parents and informed about the harassment on Wednesday morning. Later, he tried to call her but her phone was switched off. He came to her house in the evening and found Deepika hanging from the ceiling.
