BANGALORE: Following a verbal duel, a flower vendor stabbed his friend at a citybased restaurant in BTM Layout on Friday.

The deceased Ramu, 27, was an autorickshaw driver, while Venkatesh, 30, the accused was a flower vendor at BTM Layout.

According to police, at around 8 pm the friends duo went to Mayuri Hotel located in BTM Layout to mark Ugadi celebrations.

In an inebriated condition, they fought over clearing the bill.

In the melee, Venkatesh stabbed Ramu with a pocket knife.

Sources said Ramu sustained grave injuries on his chest and was shifted to a nearby hospital on Friday.

The next day, he complained of severe pain, and succumbed to injuries while he was being shifted to hospital.

Madiwala police arrested Venkatesh and a case has been registered at Madiwala police station.
