‘Ugadi Utsavalu’ at Ravindra Kalaskhetra

BANGALORE: Telugu Vignana Samithi will organise Ugadi Utsavalu, the Ugadi celebrations, at Ravindra Kalakshetra on March 30. The programme will mark the 60th year celebrations of the Samithi.

BANGALORE: Telugu Vignana Samithi will organise Ugadi Utsavalu, the Ugadi celebrations, at Ravindra Kalakshetra on March 30. The programme will mark the 60th year celebrations of the Samithi. On the occasion, Sri Krishnadevaraya Award will be presented to film personality Dasari Narayan Rao, Padmashri Dr Bhramanand and writer Veturi Ananda Murthy.

The Samithi, was established in 1952, is dedicated to promote Telugu language, literature and culture for the benefit of telugu-speaking people in the state.

Addressing a press conference, Samithi Vice- President S R Naidu said, “The Samithi, since its inception, is striving hard to foster friendship and goodwill between Telugu and Kannada-speaking people. In Karnataka, we have the largest Telugu speaking after Andhra Pradesh. Here 1.35 crore people speak Telugu.”

CM D V Sadananda Gowda will be the chief guest on the occasion. Minister for Kannada and Culture Govind M Karjol  will inaugurate the programme. The CM will release a book titled ‘Sri Sri Sahithya Samalochana’.
