BANGALORE: Thousands of Bangaloreans have pledged to turn off their lights for an hour from 8.30 to 9.30 on March 31 . Many corporate firms are also getting onto the bandwagon to trun off lights at 8.30 pm on Saturday. The Taj Group of Hotels will join thousands and switch off lights for an hour to support ‘Earth Hour’. Comprising 97 hotels across all their brands, the Taj Group on Friday reiterated its support in a statement.
Last year’s initiative by the World Wildlife Federation (WWF) created history for being the biggest organised ‘Earth Hour’ event with a record 135 countries that joined in the global effort to bring in a change.
