Bangaloreans can fly to Sabarimala

Flight of faith is always an elysian experience. And making it for real is an enterprise which offers its chopper services to Sabarimala. For a Bangalorean to experience this blissful flight, he has to either charter a flight to Kochi  or take a regular flight to the port city, from where, a chopper will take him to Perunad, 40 kilometers from Pamba. The journey then on by road takes  about 45 minutes.

“From Nedumbassery where the Cochin International Airport is located, it takes about 6-7 hours by road to reach Pamba, but with our service, it will take only 45 minutes. People can now have darshan in a single day," said Sunil Narayan, founder of the Chipsan Aviation, an independent aviation service provider in India.

The enterprise provides a chartered six-seater turbo propeller or jet aircraft from the HAL airport, which will take one to Kochi in an hour. For a six-seater Jet aircraft, the to and fro cost is `3 lakhs and for a six-seater turbo propeller, the cost is `2 lakh inclusive of taxes.

There are two packages on offer from Kochi. It will cost `22,000 per head to Perunad and back. For a group of six passengers, it is `1,11,111. The capacity of the 2010 AS350 B3 Eurocopter is six people and the company currently has two choppers.
