KCK Raja passes away

Former Director General of Police (DGP) K C K Raja  died on Saturday following a brief illness. He was 86. Raja is survived by his wife and four children.

Born in 1926 in Calicut in Kerala, Raja joined the Indian Police Service in 1951 as part of the first batch of regular recruits in Hyderabad State Cadre. He was later assigned to Mysore state and held several positions and served on deputation as SP, Naga Hills, Assam (later in Nagaland) from 1959 to 1963 and as Inspector General, BSF, Kashmir from 1978 to 1981. Raja retired from the service in 1984  as the State’s DGP.
