Bangalore University Task Force cracks down on BEd college

The Bangalore University Task Force inspected the Huliappa Malamma (HM) College of Education here on Thursday and found all the rooms in the institute locked.

According to the Task Force, the principal’s room, library, laboratories and staff room at the BEd block were locked. When the team members contacted Principal D N Umesh, his cellphone was switched off.

When the panel checked the examination centre, it confirmed that nearly 100 students took first semester BEd examination recently. During the visit, the Task Force, said the college had no signs of conducting any academic programme. Except one part-time faculty, neither the students nor the staff were present.

An interaction with part-time faculty Gururaj G K revealed that no academic activity is being conducted for this academic year and students have attended only examinations till date.

The college had allegedly conducted BEd examinations by taking the approval of the Chairperson of BEd Practical Examination of Bangalore University recently. The practical examination squad too has listed this college under gross irregularities.
