Visualisation takes on a different quality

In meditation session, we should have enough time and commitment to allow cleansing and recharging to take place

When we remain as detached spectators, this becomes a part of the cleansing process of meditation. As soon as the process of cleansing for that session is complete, we begin to experience the vibrations of peace and contentment flowing to us as the process of recharging begins. So, in every meditation session, we should have enough time and commitment to allow both cleansing and recharging to take place.

When meditation takes us to the subconscious layer, our visualisation takes on a different quality because most of the memories we are accessing belong to our past lives. So, we see ‘strange’ faces, ‘unknown’ places and ‘unfamiliar’ situations - yet they are not altogether unrecognisable because they are from our own remote past. These visions have a dreamlike quality because they combine strangeness with familiarity and reality with fantasy. For instance, you may find yourself walking through sunlit fields of bright yellow flowers as farmers toil nearby and birds chirp in the trees. You are exhilarated by the quiet peace and enchanting beauty around you.

When you look down, you see two children holding your hands and walking along with you. As they look up at you and smile, you hear one of the farmers calling out to you. When you begin to walk towards him, the whole scene just melts into nothingness and you realise that it was only a vision. In a few seconds, the next vision begins. You are washing clothes by a river with your friends. You can see the way the clothes swirl in the water as you dip them in. You can feel the particles of soft sand squishing between your toes. You are feeling very happy in the company of your friends.

As you are talking to them, they begin to tease you. In good natured response you splash them with water. All of them begin to splash water at you together… As you come out of this vision, you may find that you are actually laughing aloud and holding up your hands to protect yourself from the splashing. In the next vision, you may hear voices raised in anger. You are running through narrow streets in an unfamiliar town with many people chasing you. You have a puppy clasped to your chest. Its paws are poking you and you can feel its moist breath against your cheek. The people chasing you are angry with your puppy and want to beat it up, but you are not going to give it to them. As you hear the angry voices coming closer and closer, you increase your speed. You are panting, your heart is thumping, your feet are hurting, you just can’t run anymore…and suddenly your vision disappears.
