Teenager drowns in Agara Lake

A teenager who had gone to swim drowned in the Agara Lake in Thalaghattapura police station limits on the outskirts of the city on Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Rakesh, 18, a resident of Venkataramanagar in Chamarajpet. He was working at a bakery in Chamarajpet.

Police said Rakesh had gone for a trip on Sunday with his friends. After visiting several places, they went to Agara Lake for swimming. However, Rakesh reportedly stuck in the slush and drowned.

Later, his friends informed the matter to his family members and the police. As it was dark, the police could not search for the body. On Monday morning, the fire department personnel fished out the body from the lake.

Thalaghattapura police have registered a case.
