A youth was killed on the spot and another sustained injuries after a speeding Canter truck knocked them down near Binni Mills in K P Agrahara on Magadi Road on Sunday.
The deceased, Shivakumar, 24, a resident of Kengeri, hailed from Malavalli. He used to work for a textile store in Chikpet.
According to the police, the incident took place around 1.30 pm when a speeding canter truck going towards Hunasemara bus stop rammed into a two-wheeler.
Shivakumar, who was walking on the road, sustained severe injuries and succumbed on the spot. The motorist Srinivas, 21, sustained severe leg injuries. He was shifted to a private hospital and his condition said to be stable.
In the incident, two bikes which were parked near the footpath were also damaged. It is said that the truck driver lost control while negotiating a turn that caused the accident, the police said.
The Magadi Road traffic police have arrested the driver.
