A final year BBM student was killed on the spot when a BMTC bus ran over him after the moped, in which he was riding pillion, hit a car on Hessaraghatta Main Road near Jalahalli on Thursday.

Mohan Kumar, 20, of Devinagar is the deceased. His friends Gokul, 19, and Adarsh, 20, residents of Jalahalli, sustained injuries.  They were the students of BEL College.  The police said Adarsh was driving the moped and Mohan and Gokul were riding pillion.

The accident took place when Adarsh sped the moped, overtook a Tempo Traveller and tried to overtake a BMTC bus. He lost control over the moped while doing so and hit an oncoming. The bus ran over Mohan killing him on the spot.
