A few associates of notorious gangster Betthanagere Seena, who was gunned down by the police in an encounter on Friday, have surrendered before the police, sources said.

Manjunath alias Jakkanahalli Manja and Venkatesh have reportedly surrendered fearing that even they would be killed in an encounter. However, the police officials did not confirm this news.

Meanwhile, it is said that Seena’s aides Shiva Kumar, Narasimha, N Manju, Ananth Kumar and Abdul Kareem have been arrested by Nelamangala police in connection with the murder. Rowdy Bande Manja, who was with Seena before the encounter, has been taken into custody by the police. However, the police did not disclose any information about it.

The final rites Betthanagere Seena were performed at Betthanagere village near Nelamangala on Saturday. The police had made tight security arrangements to prevent any untoward incident during the funeral.
